Last Day of School

I can't believe we made it through a whole year of Kindergarten! I had a wonderful group of students and a great group of parents. I loved this year so much! :)

We made t-shirts with all our "signatures" on it for the last day of school. Thanks Mrs. Paula!

We had a fun time playing in special centers on the last day of school.

Mrs. Paula came to help us almost every week this year and we got so excited to see her walk through the door! We made her an apron with all our hand prints and fingerprints on it. Thank you Mrs. Paula! We love you!

Mommy and Me Picnic

We celebrated Mother's Day in Kindergarten by dressing up like our mom or dad, preforming Mother Goose songs with a twist, and eating a picnic lunch with our favorite person in the world- our mommies!
Our whole class was here that day! We finally got a class picture! :)
Singing their hearts out! It was adorable!

Eating lunch with mommy. What fun! Can we do this every day!?

Spring Showcase

Our first Spring Showcase at Woodlawn Elementary was a huge success! The kids were excited about the artwork displayed all over the school, the parents were impressed, and even the community was as well!
We helped Mrs. Rollins' 1st grade class to make a banner to hang in the entry way of our school.

Our self-portraits... Mrs. Fitzgerald's favorite :)

We painted our favorite animals.

In Art class, we made robots using pencil, marker, crayon, and paint. How fun!

After reading The Rainbow Fish in art, we made our own designs!

Exploring Science!

Towards the end of school, we ordered caterpillar and ladybug larvae and watched them throughout their life cycles! It was so amazing and we learned many new things!

The caterpillars came in a jar with food at the bottom. We left them in the container until they formed their chrysalis. We then very carefully moved them into the butterfly house.

After a few days, the butterflies emerged! We even got to see one come out!

Our favorite thing to do for a few weeks was to watch our butterflies and ladybugs. We were very good about not touching them too! :)

Ladybugs start out as funny little bugs, then form a pupa, and then emerge as the ladybugs we know. Our ladybugs were Pink Spotted Ladybugs.
It was very sad to let them go, but we realized they'd be much happier in the big world going where ever they wanted to go!
