We are Authors!

After reading "Over in the Meadow" (you can Google the lyrics) and another variation called "Way Out in the Desert," we changed up the words to write our own stories. The boys chose to write about dinosaurs and the girls wrote about zoo animals. They worked together to illustate the pictures and we used a special program to record our voices with the pages. Now we have movie books! (I hope you can open the videos!)

Giving Valentines

We practiced our writing skills by writing Valentines to our classmates. I wrote each child's name for all to see and they each chose a card, wrote who it was to, and then wrote their own name. The person receiving the cards stood with his or her box and thanked everyone for the cards. It took quite a while... and we broke it up with centers and music, but the kids loved it and wanted to keep going!

Best Man's Lunch

On Valentine's Day we had our Best Man's Lunch. Our dads, grandpas, and uncles came to eat with us. We painted ties for them to wear. What a fun time!

Valentine's Crafts

Our friend, Mrs. Sherri, brought us many fun Valentine's crafts for this special day! We made picture holders, bookmarks, and bracelets. She even brought us special candy treats! What a fun day!

Happy 100 Day!

Today was the 100th day of Kindergarten! Wow! We've come so far!
We started off the day making 100 day glasses. We were so cool! Mrs. Paula and Mr. Kyle came to help us with a 100 snack mix- it was yummy! We read two books about 100, and counted out items we brought from home on a hundreds chart. What a day!

Snack Mix- each table had to put 100 pieces of their snack into the mix. So, they counted by 10s to get to 100! (thanks, Mrs. Paula!)

Playing with Mr. Kyle (Mrs. Fitzgerald's husband).

Loved these items! Mom put 10 of each, which he didn't realize and was too far gone to change it when I mentioned it to him. Wish I would have had more time to do it whole group!

OH, and we made the number 100 with cookies! What a yummy day!
