Native American Shirts

Here are some beginning pictures of us working hard on our Native American shirts for our Thanksgiving Luncheon next Thursday. We're pretty good at this bead thing! :)

A Healthy Snack

We had a parent send us satsumas for snack one day. What a fun (and messy :) idea! We really enjoyed eating outside and eating this delicious snack.

Red Ribbon Week

During Red Ribbon week, we got to dress up like what we want to be when we grow up ... because we can be anything we want to be if we stay drug free!

We had doctors...

teachers...

police...

and the entertainers.
(author, businessman, racecar driver, and soccer player)

Spider Sight Words

Spider Snacks

While we made our spider snacks, we had to make sure we did the right thing: 2 body parts = two crackers; 8 legs = 8 pretzel sticks; and 8 eyes = 8 mini chocolate chips. Yum! Yum!

Eating like Spiders

We learned that spiders don't have teeth to chew their food like we do! They first inject the captured insect with poison that turns their insides to liquid. The spider can then suck out the juice. Eww, huh? Well, we took something hard and solid- a sugar cube- and put it in water (the poison). We watched as the sugar cube dissolved and then we acted like spiders, and drank the mixture with a straw. Most of them drank it right up (not something I would have done!), while others could barely taste it before throwing it away! ha! :)
I think we learned that we like our teeth!

Spider Unit

During Halloween, we learn all about spiders! We started our unit with an at-home project. I love the spiders that were created! Great job!!!

Acorns and sticks- so creative!

Macaroni!

Our wonderful Mrs. Paula made us some spider treats to end our unit. How cute is this???
