Learning how to treat our Friends

We met our new school counselor, Ms. Crumholt. She introduced us to Yellowie, a "new class mate." She explained that when we say ugly things to each other, it tears them up inside. And even though we may apologize, it doesn't fix it completely.

We took turns saying mean things to Yellowie. Each time, she ripped a piece of him off and handed it to the child.

After everyone had a chance at being mean, we took turns apologizing and trying to put Yellowie back together. As you can see, he's not the same, and never will be because we hurt him.
It's so important that our children learn these life concepts at such a young age. There is so much hurt and bullying in this generation. We're working hard at school to put a stop to it. Please work at home as well! We have Yellowie hanging in our classroom and the students have referred to him several times on different occasions. Thank you Ms. Crumholt!
