What a fun time we had learning about polar bears! We learned that they have black skin under their white fluffy fur. But WHY? We found out for ourselves after wearing black trash bags. We started getting HOT! So... we figured the black skin helps to warm up the polar bears to keep them from freezing in the snow. Aren't we smart to have figured that out all by ourselves :)

| Katie demonstrated what a polar bear would look like when they realized my jacket looked like a polar bear! So, we put the white fluffy jacket over the black skin- that way they could visualize why we can't see the black skin, but it's there anyway! |
And then... we played with ice! We needed to feel what it was like to be a polar bear, so we used our senses to explore the ice.
