Before our Christmas break, we learned about many different Christmas traditions around the world. Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, and Christmas in Holland, Italy, and Mexico were the ones we studied. Here are some pictures from Hanukkah and Holland.
Hanukkah
We learned all about the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah. During Hanukkah, potato latkes are made with oil to remember the oil that burned for 8 days during the first Hanukkah. We loved making and eating these special treats.
Christmas in Holland
Children in Holland place their wooden shoes out for Sinterclaus to fill with treats. We thought we'd give it a try while we took a "nap." It worked! Our shoes were filled with goodies! What fun!
