St. George Firefighters

During our unit on Community Helpers, we had the St. George Firefighters come to teach us about fire safety. They discussed having a meeting place outside your home to meet up with your family after getting out of the house during a fire. They also showed us what a firefighter looks like in their fire gear. He looked a little scary, but we learned he's a friend and if we ever see him during a fire, go to him! They also showed us some of the tools they use during fires and car wrecks. And, our favorite part, we got to hear the siren and see the lights! Thank you St. George for serving our community and teaching our children!

You're not scary!

Thank you! We love you! :)

Waiting to hear the siren!

Literacy Night

This past Tuesday was our annual Literacy Night. Our kids don't even know it has another name besides: PAJAMA PARTY! They were so excited to come to school at "night" and wear their P.J.s! Thanks parents for coming out after work and dinner and bathtime to enjoy a story and milk and cookies! We read the book "Bear Feels Scared," did a math activity with teddy grahams, and ate cookies with milk to end the night!

Using the projector and document camera to show parents and students how to do our math activity.

We Love Grandparents!!!

We celebrated our Grandparents a few weeks ago with Woodlawn's 3rd annual Grandparents' Luncheon. Thank you to all our grandparents who came to eat and visit with us. We love you!

We had a daddy come too :)

More Color Mixing

To make color mixing a little more real and exciting in our little lives, we predicted what would happen when we kneaded yellow and red play dough together. We had fun mashing the two colors together to make orange! So we learned that paint is not the only way colors can mix and change.
